Up until recently my books have been at several bookstores in the local area. The Boulder Bookstore, The Book Nook (Louisville) & The Book Cellar (Louisville) Last summer I added (through much pushing from friends) to go into the local store where I was vacationing (in Frankfort Michigan). They sold more books there in a week (the last week I was in town and I was there for 3 solid weeks, ah if I'd only listened sooner) than the other bookstores sold combined. In the last year I've launched myself as an author. Before that, writing was a hobby that I struggled with, fought internally over and one that I often resisted. I would spend hours, days writing a story that went nowhere and was shared with few. I struggled, because my background was computers. In school I loved math and science. I did poorly in writing classes. To this day I can't pick apart a sentence, and say this is a verb, this is the adjective (I can't even spell that word without spellcheck). Yet, I love to write. M2, the official name for the second book in the Mermaid Adventures stories now has a title, "The Mermaid's Apprentice," a cover and has been proofed in book form and is now available. (Whew!) On with M3!
Currently it is available on Amazon.com as the paperback and e-book, as well as the two Google Play and Books e-book versions, plus a host of other locations.

Mermaid Two, and soon to be titled, covered and available... So I said last post, over two months ago! How time has a way of slipping by. The book is back with the editor for some corrections to the revisions made after seeing the editors changes from the first round of edits. At least now I have the cover picture ready and the text for the back, which I'll share here. Melanie is a newly minted mermaid on her way to visit her Uncle Arlo, to hopefully help him with his marine biology research and earn her tail. Along with Melanie on the trip is her dad and her friend Ri’Anne, who Melanie hopes will follow her in her footsteps...
"Mermaid Rising" is about to be released on the Kindle and a week or two later, the paperback will be available on Amazon. Looking back a year, it seems hard to believe that the idea that became "Mermaid Rising" is now in book form. Much has happened since then - I've become a writer, spending most of my time with a keyboard in lap and my iPad tipped up on a table somewhere. Putting out a book isn't an easy process, but a worthwhile one. I'm glad to have written it. I still laugh at some of the quirks of the characters. Reading the proof I had from the printer, I was still finding errors - but most importantly finding new things...
